Dr. Stephanie Hartsfield graduated cum laude from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. Dr. Hartsfield grew up in Athens, AL. From the time she could say "veterinarian", that is what she wanted to be. Dr. Hartsfield owned an animal hospital in Alabama for 10 years before moving to Cumming and purchasing Coal Mountain Animal Hospital. Dr. Hartsfield has special interests in internal medicine, radiology, dentistry, oncology, and geriatric medicine. Dr. Hartsfield is a member of the AVMA, GVMA, and AAHA. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Glen, her three sons and one daughter. Dr. Hartsfield's four-legged child is a 7-year old boxer, Foxie, who is always by her side when she is at home. |
Dr. Marlene Thompson graduated cum laude from the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Her first exposure to the veterinary field was at Coal Mountain Animal Hospital, where she interned through a gifted program during high school. While fulfilling a Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Dr. Thompson engaged in educational and volunteer programs extending across the nation to countries as far away as Nepal. During vet school, she received grants for studies in Puerto Rico and Brazil. She also volunteered in numerous spay-neuter clinics in the southeastern U.S. In 2007, Marlene returned to her hometown and rejoined the Coal Mountain team. She enjoys all areas of practice, with the goal of improving the quality of lives for our four-legged friends. Dr. Thompson is most thankful for her supportive family and her feline friends, Synechia, Fyodor, Yvette, and Edgar.
